Used on the French « L'Hydroptère » project and some of the America's Cup racing boats, this small box precedes the Navigation Pilot of tomorrow. The MT9-B from Xsens (NL) is a high precision sensor, analysing in real time the movements of an object : speed, acceleration and orientation.
It is composed of 3 gyroscopes, 3 accelerometers and 3 magnetometers, in a rugged box resistant to shocks and temperature variations. Several units can be connected and synchronized to record complex movements.
Built from the new MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical System), the MT9-B is currently the most compact sensor used to analyse movement measurements.
All the boat movements in a 35 grammes box !
